Who is this package for?
This package is ideal for guests who want to discover Friesland in a different way and prefer not to make the crossing to Ameland. From Holwerd, you will cycle a varied route of approximately 60 to 70 kilometres through a surprising and lesser-known part of Northern Friesland.
The route takes you along the Dokkumer Ee, past the Eleven Cities Monument, and towards Veenwouden. You will then cycle through the Ottema-Wiersmareservaat and De Houtwiel, two beautiful nature reserves offering peace, space, and tranquillity. Via the historic town of Dokkum, you will cycle back to Holwerd.
This cycling route was developed in collaboration with De Noardlike Fryske Wâlden and Waadrâne. Thanks to this collaboration, you will discover a carefully designed route through some of the most beautiful natural areas, characteristic landscapes, and special locations in northern Friesland. A unique cycling experience that reveals the remarkable diversity of this region.
Starting days:
During July and August, you can start this tour on any day of the week. Once we receive your booking, we will check availability with the accommodation providers. If your preferred dates are available, we will confirm your trip immediately.
From September onwards, this package is available on weekdays only.
